Our Staff
Summersun Montessori is staffed with some of the best Montessori teachers and child care assistants around. We have not one but three AMI-certified Montessori instructors plus an awesome support staff filled with caring and experienced child care assistants.
Some of our long-term, licensed staff members have been with our school for 15 or 25 years, which not only provides continuity, but contributes to our school’s comfortable and established feel. In addition, our low child-to-staff ratio ensures that our staff members are able to give each child the attention and care they deserve.
Our staff members are supported by a volunteer board of directors—many of whom have children attending Summersun—who help guide our financial decisions, cheerlead our fundraisers, and educate our parent community.
The real preparation for education is the study of one’s self. The training of the teacher… is something far more than the learning of ideas… it includes the training of character; it is a preparation of the spirit.

Our school is open every weekday from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm but families have the option to enroll for the timeframe that works best for the child and the family*:
Extended Day:
8:30 am – 2:30 pm
Full Time:
7:00 am – 5:30 pm

Fundraisers
Summersun Montessori is supported, in part, by community participation in two fundraisers. Wreaths and poinsettias are sold during the winter holiday season. Fresh flower baskets are sold in the spring time. If you would like to be notified when these fundraisers are underway, please contact us. Your participation is greatly appreciated, and supports educational developments at Summersun Montessori.
Parent Involvement
As a non-profit, we rely on the support of our parent community to keep our school running at its best. Summersun parents not only make up the bulk of our board of directors, but also volunteer an average of 20 hours per year to the school, participate in our two yearly fundraisers, and donate the equivalent of a month’s worth of tuition as a tax-deductable gift to the school. Summersun parents rock!
